4TH ANNUAL GARDEN TOUR, THIS YEAR IN EATONTON

Oconee Area Citizen Advocacy is set to host its fourth annual “Not Your Mama’s Garden Tour” on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Eatonton. This year’s tour, sponsored by Eatonton Main Street, will continue its tradition of offering special features in addition to a nice variety of home gardens and landscapes.

For $15 per ticket, tour goers are invited to spend the day exploring several historic home gardens in downtown Eatonton. Each visitor will also have the option of viewing Eantonon’s Community Garden project and Butterfly Habitat.

Butterflies & Blooms in the Briar Patch is home to native butterfly larval host plants, in a more than an aesthetically pleasing garden. A representative will be on-site sharing information on how to foster these habitats in any neighborhood. There will also be a plant sale and craft fair held in conjuction with the tour featuring native larval and nectar plants from Vincent Gardens, a certified nursery in Douglas, Georgia.

Tickets are available at each of the garden sites the day of the tour, and a map of the gardens can be found on Citizen Advocacy’s Web site, www.oconeeareacitizenadvocacy.org. To speak to someone for more information, or to reserve your tickets, please call Brittany Curry or Jeanette Waddell at (478) 452—6968.

Citizen Advocacy is a 30-year old community organization that recruits, matches, and offers support to ordinary local citizens to become voluntary advocates on behalf of a person with a developmental disability.
