I thought I found the name of this tree before- a know-it-all neighbor claims it is a bottle brush tree. I think it is a nut tree, though we have not had any nuts yet. It has green bark and these mimosa like flowers, and it is desiduous. ( leaves fall off- I don't know how to spell! )
Pseudobombax ellipticum, a.k.a. shaving brush tree.
