The Wuertz Gourd Farm 'Running of the Gourds' festival is this weekend. This is a very interesting festival with lots of gourd artists and supplies and a judged gourd show- you will not believe what talented people there are that paint, carve and show gorgeous gourds! They also have thousands of dried gourds for sale, so you may try your hand at making something beautiful! It is held in Casa Grande - here is a link if you are interested.

Yes, had a great time. Bought a dozen different dried gourds, now just have to soak them, scrape the coating off and paint/stain and finish them. So many different shapes and sizes, was hard to pick only a dozen!
It was my first time to the gourd festival. I don't think I'll be winning any contests!
