Kelp Fertilizer Vs. Fish emulsion

Cascade, VA(Zone 7a)

I have heard many a good word about fish emulsion fertilizers, but i have heard just as many good things said about Kelp based fertilizers. Which one do you guys prefer and why is that your favorite over the other one? Thanks! :)

They do have different values so it would depend on what you're trying to achieve. You can mix the two together for a better "all purpose" fertilizer. You may not want to use fish emulsion indoors though but that depends on how sensitive your nose is.

oh yes, tried fish emulsion to foliar spray our philodendron house plant once....never again, LOL, whew!

In my case the fertilizers would be used in a big garden bed with vegetables, herbs and flowers all planted together.

I wouldn't think you'd want too much nitrogen for vegetables and flowers as you'd be promoting more leaf growth with nitrogen. You may need to introduce a bit natural phosphorus for those. There are probably folks out there far more knowledgeable than I on how much is too much.
