After using as deodorizer in fridge, is bs compostable?

Note to self: replace box in fridge more freq. than every 5 years....

I wouldn't - unless it's just the box that goes on the pile. Plants need Na in only minute amounts, so it's very easy for Na to quickly reach toxic levels. I don't imaging it's upward effect on pH would do much for the pile, either.

1/2 of comments I read online were along the lines of what you said and the other 1/2 a straight contradiction. Very confusing. Thanks for your input, I've seen u around and know you know your soils.

guess your fridge isn't too smelly or you would have changed it sooner!
I'd stick with tapla. More likely harm than good. Maybe sprinkle it in the sidewalk cracks to deter weeds.

I agree with Tapla.

Baking soda wouldn't be AS bad as table salt, but I think it would be at least half as bad.
