Do they ever have seeds where you can plant the cactus from?

They do get seeds, but since most are hybrids, I wouldn't think most seed would be viable. They are easily started (I'm told) from a leaf segment. I've never tried it , myself.
These are easiest to start in the spring and summer months. Your chief concern in too much moisture causing rot. Put your starts 1/2 inch deep in soil (easily drained) and keep slightly moist. I like to put 3 starts to a pot. bob
