Christmas and Easter Cactus

Grantsboro, NC(Zone 8b)

Do they ever have seeds where you can plant the cactus from?

Lavina

Santa Ana, CA(Zone 10b)

They do get seeds, but since most are hybrids, I wouldn't think most seed would be viable. They are easily started (I'm told) from a leaf segment. I've never tried it , myself.

These are easiest to start in the spring and summer months. Your chief concern in too much moisture causing rot. Put your starts 1/2 inch deep in soil (easily drained) and keep slightly moist. I like to put 3 starts to a pot. bob
