Amaryllis planted inground will develop foliage, and even bud out but a sudden drop of 10 degrees will damage blooms. If lucky, it may rebloom in spring, if not, will have to enjoy the blooms in spring 2016. My newly planted Sambas, a strong grower in my area.
A typical winter in a TX z9a garden
One of my amaryllis has actually sprouted too. hmmm freeze coming this weekend. should I cover it or dig it up and pot it?
I let them be,but if you pot and bring inside, you improve the odds of blooming in a few days or in the spring, do you have foliage or an actual flower bud? If flower bud I'd recommend potting and bringing inside for sure
just a leaf about 4 inches tall but a freeze due tonight. I'm zone 8 here
Ah Vossner, I noticed brugs blooming too. I see low 30's next week. Darn
