An old European Starling in the aviary

Pittsburgh, PA

I visited an aviary last weekend. I found one European Starling that seems to be under some medical treatment. If I understand correctly, its illness is simply old.

I think European Starlings are super common in North America, and there should be millions of old starlings out there. This starling is definitely a lucky one.

Any comments?

Thanks,
Cui

Looks like they are taking good care of it - nice to see!

Except that Starlings are very sociable birds - it'll be feeling very isolated and vulnerable without other Starlings nearby

If it was raised by people it might be happy with human company, but yes starlings are very social.
