An article recently published in the New York Times website warns about the dangers of embedded GPS data (geotags) in pictures you take - http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/23/upshot/what-the-internet-can-see-from-your-cat-pictures.html . (talks about cats, but relevant to our plants as well)
In a nutshell, if you take pictures of your plants with a smartphone that has geotagging enabled and post them on the web, strangers can learn where you live by looking at the GPS data embedded in the pictures. You can disable geotagging ( http://icanstalku.com/how.php#disable ) or use a metadata remover ( http://www.digitalconfidence.com/downloads.html ) to get rid of the geotags, before you post them on the web.
Post pics of your plant online? Beware of hidden GPS data!
