Can someone help me with the name of this plant? It's blooming/fruiting now. Lower Southeast.

Yes - the opposite arrangement of leaves, the green young stems, and the bumpy/warty pinkish red capsules from which the orangey fruit descend when they split open - that's Euonymus americanus.

Euonymus americanus is a woody plant, ranging from a sprawly shrub to larger shrub/small tree.

It can also reseed and make more new plants. You could collect those seeds and start some yourself. It is a fine woodland plant, and a benefit to various wildlife.
