Happy Birthday Sally! May the year ahead be filled with moments and things and people and plants and critters that put a smile on your face and a song in your heart.

Thanks! For now, I'll be happy if I can go to sleep after a late dinner and piece of chocolate cake.

Lucketts, VA(Zone 7a)

Hope it was a wonderful birthday, Sally. The chocolate cake was a good start, and lots of rain for the plants.

Sequoiadendron, Jeff, Don't nag sallyg about B&W, I starred in B&W silent movies, back in the day. They were taken by my father as it were. ROTFLMAO

Blast from the past:
A funny story comes to mind, our daughter Julie was a tweenie at the time, She had found an old shoe box of photos and sorted them by her standard. As a result I found a bunch of B&W photos in the trash and ask, why? Turns out she said, "They were old, I didn't recognize anyone, and they are B&W."
She was "well" informed, they were mementos from my younger days and not trash. Many had been taken with my box camera, which was later updated to a Brownie.
For Jeff's info, not all Brownies are Girl Scouts. A Brownie was once a very popular camera, for use by those yet to be enlightened to the mystery of photography. LOL

Lititz, PA(Zone 6b)

Oh my gosh Ric!!!! Weren't those popular with Charlie Chaplin in the 20's?

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

No, they were popular with parents in the late 60s and 70s, something call 8mm.

Oh, Sally, glad you had a good day.:-}

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Hehehehe

Lucketts, VA(Zone 7a)

Happy Birthday Sally! Hope you are making the celebrations last all week :)

I actually like B&W photos of people better than color photos, even in today's technology. Can't beat color for plant blooms, birds, oceans, or sunsets though LOL.

Oh, mu gosh--I missed your Birthday! Ten lashes coming...

Hope it was happy! How can it not be--with all of us giving you
virtual hugs?

memory lane--here is one of your Birthday cards....

Gita

And--Jeff----I uses a Brownie camera for years--yes, mostly B&W--
but also in the beginnings of color film available. It took film #680 (??)

When my Brownie got dirty--I took it apart, cleaned it, and put it back together..
It was THAT simple!

I am on the left--my sister is on the right. This is in Latvia---in our garden.
I think I am about 2+.....

Wow, G, there's no putting that camera in your pocket! (I had to look it up as I didn't know what it was)

Lucketts, VA(Zone 7a)

And even bigger if you had the flash attachment on it!! There was also a plastic cover for the flash in case the bulb exploded. They got all blistery. Gita, I think it took 620 film. Mine did, anyway.

Pat--You are right! #620.

Is the one you pictured yours?
I still have mine--it would be neat to take some photos with it--just for laughs...
Can that #620 film still be found?

And--for you Young'uns who never heard of a Brownie camera--
You used it holding it in front of you near your waist. The lens is in the front.
There was a small window on top you could see what you were photographing.

I was going to look to see--but I think I gave it away to my youngest daughter
when she was here visiting. She likes old stuff....
Mathew, her SO, took away my little carrying case full of all my 45's (records).

Glad to get rid of some of this old stuff....as long as it goes to someone that really wants it.
Preferably...someone in the family.
