Now that personal, seedless watermelons are readily available and reasonably priced in my area, we've gone crazy for them. But I still found it a pain to cut them up into snack pieces. Enter my new gadget: the big a$$ melon slicer. Works just like the traditional apple slicer but you do have to be a little more cautious as the blades are closer to regular sharp knives.
It takes no time to slice, and I even tried a large watermelon and the slicer performed with flying colors. If you were wondering about this item, wonder no more and get in on eBay or amazon for $20 or so. Of course, nothing beats one of the many knives you likely own, but if you're gadget crazy, this is a good one.
