I saw these last week while in NC. I had seen Turk's Cap Lilies, maybe 3 years ago in a different area but still within 200 yds. The earlier ones have not reappeared although I marked their location and I believe there is young Lily foliage again this year. Does anyone know if that sounds reasonable? I believe the 2nd pic is Euphorbia corollata. The Orange Crested Orchid(?) looks smaller than last year but I'm glad it's returned.

Is it the Carolina lily?
Well thanks, JulieQ. You've just educated me to the fact that their is a Carolina Lily. It is NC's state flower in fact. I've looked at a few other pics I took and I think that I indeed have Carolina Lily. Thanks, again, for helping me learn.
