On Blackwater Heritage State Trail. A rail to trail path in west Florida, it borders some swamp and wetland areas.
it was a bright and breezy day
Bright pink flower and white flowers in wetland. Same place as pitchers plants. The white flowers were like solid balls no more than about half inch across .
Not nasturtiums, some creeping thing at edge of pond but it also invades nackyards so its not just a pond edge plant. Any IDs on these?
Nice trail, very flat, and bikes were cooler and more efficient than walking.
Sally, I think the white flowers are Eriocaulon aquaticum (Common Pipewort).
After a little searching, I found Hydrocotyle umbellata. It is native according to the USDA. It is endangered in some areas, yet the brief search I did, people want to get rid of it.
Well. wifi jumpin. looked at lactuca and thalictum, not good. Phlox dont have yellow centers, tho pinks (silene) does. Gottaa get back to work.
Yes Chillybean, Dollar weed or Hydrocotyl for the round fleshy leafed thing. It can be a garden pest, as evidenced in my sister's garden in Pensacola.
