Is it just me or are there less Japanese beetles this year. I have seen much less damage to the Canna that I always grow. I have Sassafras trees and a plum tree and they really like them too. Was it the cold winter? I live right in the middle of a residential neighborhood.

I guess there were less Japanese Beetles last year, because this year I have a pretty good amount. They keep me hopping visiting the plants they like the best and dropping them into a container of soapy water. I doubt the cold winter had much to do with it, we had a pretty cold one last year too. I bet it's a life cycle type of thing.
