Anyone know what this might be? Here's a clue: It's native. I'd like to train it into a tree, with the ultimate goal to have the nicest tree-form ........ ........ in all of Seymour Township. I like to think big. Is this feasible?
Lookee here!
You can cut off lower branches as your main stem there grows. Your problem will be suppressing additional stems that will inevitably contribute to your plant's canopy. And additional perimeter stems that - like Sumac - will respond to your zealous pruning.
Know thine opponent...
Moi? I like to think of it as judicious pruning rather than zealous. Moderation is my motto, ViburnumValley, but I understand that is a dirty word in some circles. Could it be controlled from spreading by high mowing? Has anyone seen a nice tree-form ... ...?
