If I plant some daliah bulbs will they multiply over the years?

Yes. Dahlia tubers can also be divided in spring or fall. Cut the tubers apart. Tubers with an eye (a dormant bud) will grow stems.
If you are planning to leave them outdoors through the winter, they need to be hardy in your zone.
I am closeby in Nashua, NH and you have to dig them up before frost in the fall. I just put mine in an open paper bag - no dirt necessary in the basement and pull out in the spring. You can pull them apart for multiple plants. Do not discard even if they look dried out - I almost did and almost threw out 2 plants this year.
