I have fabulous blooms this year. I want to cut and dry to make a wreath. When do you cut your blooms?

Fresh, recently opened blooms, rarely dry well in the open air. I find they perform best when allowed to dry (on the plant) before pruning them but, experiment by harvesting the blooms between August through October.
