Hi all,
I live about 1 1/2 hours north / northwest of the Triad, in South Boston, VA but I haven't been able to get to any Garden Centers or Farmers Markets in Carolina recently.
I'm looking for Inkberry shrubs; latin name is Ilex Glabra and it's a native plant. I can only find Japanese Hollies in the stores up here and I want about 10 good sized plants so would rather not pay to ship them.
Would you all keep an eye out for this plant and let me know if you see any for sale? They don't have to be very large, I just don't want to try and nurse liners through the winter so I guess 1 year old and up will be a fairly hardy plant.
Thanks for your help!
Terri
Help finding Inkberry
Have u tried Juniper Level Gardens in Garner NC?
Lavina
Plant delights? No, they are pretty pricey, I was hoping someone would see them at the Raleigh or Greensboro markets for a reasonable price. Thought if they did say they were at one of them I could ask my sister to pick them up for me until I get a free weekend to get down there to pick them up
Hum I'm on the coast now and will try to ask my co worker if they have them at her mom's place I keep forgetting that nursery its between Aurora and Grantsboro, used to be called Nance Nursery but I think they have changed names

Thanks L
aviniaMae!
I've looked online too. They are a native plant and a lot of nurseries were selling them a few years ago but haven't seen them since then. I liked them because they stayed fairly small bushes, unlike regular hollies. They made nice foundation shrubs
Its $12 for a 3 gal bucket at Yard Barber's between Grantsboro and Aurora

Thanks lavinamae! Will have to get down soon and check it out, now that i have a known supplier for them.
Oops, looks like its in Swansboro, that a little too far, over 4hours. Was hoping for Rdu area but thank you for checking!
No its Pamlico, Beaufort county area on the coast. It used to be Nance Nursery and Yard Barber bought them out they are across the ferry from Bath
Do I need to get them and mail them to you?
No thanks LavinaMae, that is so wonderful of you to offer!
DH has now decided that he's going to put a water through where I was going to plant them along our driveway. That means he will be tearing and trampling any plants in his way so I will start looking again the spring. Hopefully his project will be over by then (fingers crossed!)
