Is this lack of pollination, or rot?
I'm thinking it's the pollination, but would like to know that (if) my zuke plants are okay.
Thank you beloved gardening guides!
Checking on zuke
It could be a pollination issue. Do you see bee/wasp pollinators? If so, it might not be pollination but maybe caused of high temperatures or, like tomatoes, blossom end rot. If these are your first fruits, and the problem is blossom end rot, it is often self correcting. I'm thinking that's your problem.
Here's a site that offers suggestions you might try. http://www.weekendgardener.net/vegetable-gardening-tips/squash-blossom-rot-080908.htm
High temps have been a definite problem this year. We are harvesting lots of other fruits, with a few unollinated ones. This one just looked different.
Oh, thank you!
