In the winter and with no leaves the bark made this look like a sycamore of some kind. Now that I'm around it in full bloom it is obviously not that.
My twig picks were blurry on this one, sorry...

heh.. This makes up for the walnut tree I missed, because I thought of that species right when I saw this.
Wish I remembered to write it here though so I could look smart...
Pretty sure you had a Stewartia identified in a different thread previously...
I did, just a few days ago, but it was much younger.
