This tree has a witch hazel feel to it with the exploded seed pods and leaf arrangement. Is it a Persian Ironwood?

Not sure what, but not Parrotia - that has rounded leaf tips.

That's a Stewartia (Stuartia) pseudocamellia.

A view from further away would confirm with any doubters...
