This was seen in Old Lyme CT on a woods walk. The only hickory I am familiar with is Shagbark; is this another type?

All i had was the ipod for these pics, my apologies...

Not Carya ovata, but I'm not with my hickories to compare leafiness.

The bark fits some of the other lesser nutted bunch, like Pignut/Mockernut/etceranut...
