How do you successfully dry sweet green peppers in the sun?

Anna, IL(Zone 6b)

My peppers are producing like crazy and I have several plants. A recent storm caused some of the peppers to lean towards the ground so when I was trying to till around them this morning, it was very difficult. I'm thinking that I may want to pull these leaning plants up and harvest the abundance of peppers and dry them and plant more peppers in their slot since there is still plenty of growing days left for peppers. I have cut peppers up and frozen them in past years, but for some reason I think dried peppers would be better. Any suggestions on drying them in the sun?
