Been around gardens all my life, have always had about 20x15 with tomatoes, summer squash, cukes, and peppers. I was going to expand this year to 20x40, but the guy tilling it made it 60x30, so I just went with it!
I added potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, winter squash. I have always mulched with grass clippings and leaves, but I had to add straw with the expansion. Also figured out it is so much easier to go up, so I bought 7 cattle panels that wok great. Finally, I did not plan as well as I should have, plus I kept on buying plants to fill in the holes, so while it is neat, it is haphazard.
Anybody here from the upstate of S.C.?
