This is the first daylily bloom in our garden this year, It's Stella's Sparky and usually the first to bloom. Last year it first opened on June 1, but on May 9 in 2012. That was the year when everything was so early.

One of our neighbor's here in Maryland has a place on the outer banks of N.C. She often invites us to spend a few days there and we just got back from there this afternoon. I've interested her in daylilies and have provided her with about ten varieties. Here's a picture of her daylily patch so far.
She had a bloom today on Octopus Hugs. It's often quite windy there near the ocean and her complaint about Octopus is that the petals often get broken off by the wind. Before she could bring the bloom in today, two petals had fallen off from the wind.
Don, she is lucky to have you as a neighbor and vise versa. Her garden looks good from here.
