I've gone all greedy to get this monster grass. It's listed as growing to 10' tall, that's the blooms I'm sure and 5-6' wide, a perfect windbreak for me. I'm in zone 5 with really bad wind in the winter, I'd like to add some variety to the standard, boring line of evergreens. Bamboo would be my first choice, but don't think it could survive our winters.
Has anyone had any luck with this grass?
thanks,
Lori
Miscanthus giganteus - anyone have this?
Oh yeah, I grew it at my former home and I am doing it again.
Highly, highly recommended. It doesn't seed. It actually grows 12 feet, with two foot plumes.
Have a look at this thread. I posted pictures. This grass jumps out of the ground and is huge after three years.
