Here are a few of the interesting plants from my recent trip to the Tupelo Mississippi area State Parks. We were at Trace, Tombigbee, and Tishomingo State Parks. I am not sure what pic #1 or pic #2 are. Pic #3 is Mayapple (?) Not sure what pic#4 is. Pic #5 is mountain laurel.
Some woodland plants in Mississippi - need ID's
Your fourth picture is a Styrax sp., though I don't know what species might be found in Mississippi state parks. Maybe a Styrax americanus? A picture of the whole tree might have helped; maybe not.
Interesting array of plants, to be sure.
Could pic #2 be ramps?
Last one appears to be Kalmia latifolia.
#2 is not ramps, although I don't know what it is.
how did you all skip past #3 the mayapple, Podophyllum peltatum?
JulieQ admitted she knew...
aggh, I didn't read-- Sorry Julie!
It's OK! haha I am still wondering about a couple of these... But I'm very patient. :)
