I live in Los Angeles and bought this in the last 8 years at Home Depot or Armstrong nursery, but the tag for this one got away and so I don't know the name. I have looked online at images of purple falls and lavender standards, but have not found it.
It has purple violet falls, and lavender plicata standards and a delicate brown edge.
this looks a bit like LATIN LOVER to me..but I dont grow it so I couldnt tell you if it has the extremely faint brown egde on it..so dont hold me too it..but its one of the few I know of that has the plicata type on the whitish standards with the deep rosey purple burgundy falls. Unless you can remember or find the tag, the only true way to know for sure would be to by ones you suspect of being the same as your noid, and growing it next to it, to compare.
I just happened to go on ebay and found this exact iris - or at least I think it is - Chief So Happy.
Funny how things happen like that!
Now we'll see if anything else blooms in my garden this year that I don't remember - I hope, I hope!
