Actually, the new growth was really red. It gets morning shade, and a bit of mid-day sun, and then more shade late in the day. I just can't believe how much it has grown.

I do not have Inaba Shadare but all mine that start out red like Bene Fushigi and Villa Taranto, usually turn green as soon as the temperature starts rising. It is happening later this year because of the cold winter, but it is already happening. Growing conditions are just different down here on the SE coast.
