I'd like to plant garlic, but it seems only to be hardy thru zone 8a, I live in zone 9a. Would it be feasible to grow in my area. What is the best time to plant and what do I need to do for a successful crop. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you.
Garlic
In the US you have so many varieties to try and good information. Try this site

I live in Chile and my winters are mild but I can grow garlic. Best of luck!
Cristina, thank you for the link. It contain lots of good info.
We, gardeners the only thing we can do is to try, nature will teach us, if when we try we succeed that is experience, if we don't, it is also positive experience.
Good luck!
I'd just try some from the store and see what happens. How cool do your winters get? I'm in the desert and we do get cool winters. I plant as close to oct 1 as I can manage and harvest from June-July depending on the variety.
Good luck.
