It IS spring!

Stamford, CT(Zone 6b)

These reticulated iris are always among the first to brag (along with crocus). The bloom comes pretty much before the foliage. Then the blooms die down, and the foliage seems to grow forever. 4 inch blooms, 2 foot foliage.

They just explode with color, and it seems that all the early blooms are in the blue/violet family.

Katharine Hodgkin started blooming today. She is of the same family & is a blue-grey with yellow signals.
