She's back! I've been glued to the webcam for the last two weeks and the female osprey known worldwide as Lady arrived just before 7am Scottish time today. Many, many matings, some successful, some not.
This really is worth following. http://blogs.scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk/osprey/
Loch of the Lowes female osprey
Great to hear she is back. Just checked the cam, but no birds at the time. Thanks for starting the thread.
Because of the time difference I've been watching on and off all (Scottish) night. Signs are that she's preparing to lay. I checked just now and she's sitting in the egg cup.
Better late than never. She laid her first egg at 12.30am Scottish time.
Second egg laid today.
Yes, and see the colour off the eggs. The splotchy markings are purple.
Three eggs. The first one is expected to hatch around May 20.
Amazing accomplishment for this old bird.
Seems one of the Osprey eggs was snatched today by a Crow when the male Osprey flew away from the nest to chase the Crows. The female returned before more damage could be done.
Oh damnation!
