Gardens to visit in Melbourne and Tasmania?

Shanghai, China

Hello- I am an American garden designer living in Shanghai. Planning a trip to Australia from 27 April to 17 May to see a friend; first two weeks will be in Melbourne, and then we will head to Tasmania (I think the itinerary is to start in Hobart and then travel along the east and north coasts?) for the last week, before I return to Shanghai again from Melbourne.

I've got a couple of big projects on in Shanghai and am always looking for inspiration; what public gardens and/or garden businesses are recommended to go see, particularly in that season? (This will be my first venture into the southern hemisphere... odd thing to get used to, autumn in May.) Our itinerary isn't set and some travel out of the way will be possible if warranted.

Thanks in advance! Ryan

Ryan, For 1 , I recommend the 'Royal Botanical Gardens' in Hobart...You probably picked the worst time of year to tour Tassie, for plants
