Windows 8 media player re: burning disc

I have Windows 8 on my pc. I use to rip and burn music cd's off my old Windows media player easily. I always copy a new cd and save/protect the original. I am @ a loss of how this new media player works or if I have to download or buy something additional.

Can anyone help?
