Thanks juhur7! You do have a lot of seed there!
I am pitifully slow at typing, partly because of arthritis in my fingers, I got a new keyboard which might help with the creaky fingers. Anyway I hunt and peck at the keys. ;)

Hi Kids:

Not to be nit-picky (HA!) but this is just for seed listing.

Let's try to keep the chat portion on the other thread so this one doesn't get too long.

Thanks!

Actually I think I will mail mine to the third recipient just be sure they are awaiting the bird instead of the other way around. If the first 2 recipients are okay with that and see anything in my 'haves' above, I will gladly send a bubble envelope to them separately. This is all assuming that I am allowed to do this? Sorry to ask for a pardon Amanda, I have been a busy girl trying to get my 'high hopes garden 2014' off to a good start and may have bitten off more than I can chew! LOL

Okay that is all :D

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Has anyone got any Cactus/Cacti seed? I am looking for some for my mother. Will do postage or trade. Thanks!

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

I do not think the reserve to this conversation counts anymore ,,
If it does Amanda gets to scold me , lol
One of my variegated catgrass seeds grew as a green , and the Black Pearl pepper are Black Spike Peppers .. So be aware ,, my seeds variate ..
Only following through ...

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7b)

behave Ju. We are all on our best behavior and hope Garrey is well, and the bird too.

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

of course I hope ,, but good or bad , Behave is all I do ,
I was talking history and seeds ,
no problem ,,, haves and wants ,,, The seeds where they are suppose to be ...^_^

(Becky), Lipan, TX(Zone 7b)

I haven't started any of the black pearl peppers, but a black spike is welcome also lol

Didn't notice it before Annette, but I have cactus seeds if you still want some?

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Yes, I do! Thanks Ju!

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

I will take credit for getting the Conversation going a second time ,, Your welcome Nanny

SWPD(Becky ) has your seeds (cactus) Nanny ,,,,

Besides I was interested in a few of the results , just to see what was going on about some gardening .. growing ,,etc ..

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Sorry I meant Becky. Lol. I think I need new glasses. What kind of cactus you got? How are you and your garden faring in this heat? It has been really hot for June- in the near 90s for 2 weeks. Are you getting any rain?

Ju, I planted Tomatoes,Spinach, Squash, watermelons, Scarlet runner beans, cukes, peppers, all from the Robin. They are growing nicely in my garden.
The only thing I planted that hasn't sproutd was the Giant allium. I know you wanted some seed, I am going to try them again. But there is a thread for groups buys that is taking orders for Alliums and other bulbs. If you haven't checked it out yet you may want to.

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1366530/

(Becky), Lipan, TX(Zone 7b)

Lol no biggie :)

Right now I have echinocactus texensis 'horse crippler' fresh from the pod, and will have both spineless and spiny opuntia later (they're fruiting now and have to wait til overripe to collect). I know I have a few other columnar cactus seeds and also some yucca (pale leaf, and false red). Just lmk.

My garden got torrential rain a few times recently, which it needed, but now the heat is up (index was 100 today), and some things are getting droopy. Guess we'll see which aren't meant for my zone.. Haven't done anything from the robin. Have a lot of plans. This spring I was just too busy with the seedlings I had going. Good for you, I'm glad your seeds are growing happily, any stand-outs emerging? Or must grows for next year?

The allium co-op looks amazing. I would do it if I had the $$ :)

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

My Scarlet Runner beans that Carole sent me are just about to bloom the ones I got from juhur shouldn't be too far behind, if I can keep the rabbits at bay. i was excited to get those. First time IiIhave had them.
The prices didn't look too bad on the co-op, but I know what you mean about $$ ;)

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

It is hardly ever all that bad if you have it ,, lol

Most of the time I am still doing the weed thing . Got some white and yellow sweet clocer seeds walking around today , Good hay , nitrogen fixer , and bee , butterfly plant ,,
Got half a dozen Chinese Goji berry plants growing , still small ..
I am always trying to decide where to grow some things

odds and ends today

(Robin) Blissfield, MI(Zone 6a)

Ju, is the center pic Variegated Catgrass? I sowed both packets of seed from the robin you provided, one variegated and one green. Both came up true to type; however, some of the variegated were completely white like your seedling in the pic. They grew to about 4" tall and withered. What did I do wrong? All the striped ones and solid green ones are perfectly fine.

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

You did not do anything wrong . sometimes that is the difficulty with Variegated plants from seed.
Daylily , iris , all kinds of variegation attempts , they won't process chlorophyll, they wither and die ,
My first all white catgrass ,, got about 9 inches , got broke at the base , and died , I don't know for sure what happened , The one in the pic has heavy leaves and is about 5 inches today , I will let you know as it grows .
The green one behind it in the pic is skinny ,, does not look like it should either ..
Would be nice if things would grow like they should

(Robin) Blissfield, MI(Zone 6a)

From my WS efforts I had one Daylily germinate and it happened to be an albino. Of course it withered too. The white ones are so cool...argh.

Thanks for helping me out.

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

I had an orange tree in a pot that did that years ago ,, almost went to pink for me ,,
2 yrs later , the pink leaved orange tree came on the market,, darn almost ..lol

Back in the good ol days when I could keep up with all that ,,lol All of it moves like zoooom !!!

Prescott, AZ(Zone 7b)

Well, that answered a question I didn't know I had. I have an albino variegated Agave. It's really cool looking but it's not growing well at all and I keep thinking maybe I should move it. The truth is it probably just isn't ever going to do well being so white.
I had some of the variegated cat grass seed come up too, neat stuff.

(Becky), Lipan, TX(Zone 7b)

It's all pretty Ju, weeds and all!! Lol! I had no idea about the variegated plants either. Good to know :)

Mipii, your WS will go much better this year, I just know it, jut don't forget the drainage holes! LOL ;)

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Outside it feels like standing in or on a grill , I'm hiding in the AC .. more to do later

SWPD Becky ) Weeds ?
Hey ,, I have some of those) Milkweeds !!!
See them in the background , 9 ft nearly ,, lol wow ,, what a Big weed ..

Thumbnail by juhur7 Thumbnail by juhur7 Thumbnail by juhur7 Thumbnail by juhur7 Thumbnail by juhur7
(Becky), Lipan, TX(Zone 7b)

Holy smokes!! I've never seen a milkweed that tall!! Well except for the crownflower in Hawaii. It grew about that height. But even still, is that the norm for you??

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Mipii and dom Thank you both also for letting me know about the catgrass and variegated plant talk ..

SWPD (Becky ) Thank you for the pretty also ..
I have never seem them like that either , the last few years they have grown huge .
Must have something to do with the age of the plant ,,These are getting about 4 or 5 now ,
I don't usually see plants beyond a few years old ..
TCS a member here , showed some staked in a pot last season , from Wisconsin . they were in a large decor planter and were a good 8 ft ,,

I started these from a four to five ft. wild Syrica Milkweed , only one of those things that happen , I guess ...Bees, Butterfly , everything loves these , and they smell like a perfume factory , If they all bloom to scent at the same time (and did last year ) I can't be near them more than a few minutes without being "gassed" really powerful ..lol (that being different about them to me also
