What varieties of Brussels Sprout grow best in Michigan?

I'd like to try my hand at growing Brussels Sprouts this year. What varieties do Michiganders like best? I have acreage so I would like to purchase both hybrids and open pollinated....

Do I need to worry about cross pollination?

Can they be grown throughout the winter if grown in a cold frame or hoop-house?

Would appreciate your help and any helpful tips you might have regarding growing BS. :-)

Hey Glenda. Sorry I do not know anything about brussel sprouts besides I really like them. But i just look just once in awhile and have to see who posted. Nobody ever gets on here any more. Its really sad it used to be a fun forum in Michigan. Ronna Where is fowlerville?
