I was concerned that it might be a weed since it appears to be very prolific. I hear horror stories about the wild flower seeds :(
what does it taste like?
I'm going to guess echinacea (cone flower). Mine are also germinating now even in the ice.
Looks like a salad green to me.

It's Calendula. Once you plant them they will pop up all over. Pretty, with culinary and medicinal uses.
I have a recipe for Calendula Flower Petal cookies. They are really yummy.
