I am not sure if this is a good place for this so....
I am interested in purchasing a 100% alpaca wool blanket. I am also interested in making socks and other wearables. In my research I found comments made that alpaca "smells like a farm" when wet especially. Is this true? Does it depend on the processing the fleece gets before being spun into yarn?
Do you really have to block it after every wash? Does it wear unevenly or shrink unevenly in the wash?
Please chime in with your advice and experience. I want to know what I am in for before I buy.
