First Iris to Bloom

This 'Lightning Streak' is blooming very early.

Won't be until April here. Species I. pumila is first.

a good friend sent me some bearded iris and told me to pot them up. I did so last summer and one even bloomed after bringing into the house in the fall. They have been in the garage all winter. I watered them every so often and now they are growing. I have covered them to keep out the light for a while. Can hardly wait.

I repotted the iris and am trying to beat the aphids. Heard garlic helped but not sure how to use it Anyone know how to apply it

I would suppose crush it up with water, let steep, strain, and spray the plant?....Arlyn

Thats an idea. I will try it. Makes more sense than stuffing garlic cloves in the dirt.
