I transplanted about 5 little seedlings sent out as runners by some very tall Ilex that my sister was taking out of her yard (also in Northern Virginia). They were planted by a previous homeowner, so they're probably a cultivar. These are still less than 2 feet tall, so I didn't think a photo of the whole plant would add anything.
Does anyone recognize this Ilex ? I'm going to move them closer to my other hollies in the hope that I'll end up with compatible male-female pairs, also because I no longer want them to grow here.
Ilex cultivar i.d. please
Looks like Ilex cornuta, or at least has Ilex cornuta in its parentage.
Resin
Thanks, Resin. Maybe I won't keep it because it's non-native. Throwing it out will be a heck of a lot easier than transplanting it.
