Mine are for growing, not food. They are special marigolds.

They are from a science lab. They will get all sorts of mutations that affect height, leaf shape, blooms, color, and if you grow them to maturity those seeds will still pass on any unique traits. So you might get a new kind of marigold not sold anywhere else! I grew a variegated marigold from one seed and a dwarf from another.
WOW! That is cool. There was a movie about Man in the Moon Marigold in the title many moons ago. The experiment was the effects of gamma rays on marigolds. That wasn't the gist of the movie, but I remember the name. I am not sure. Just reminded me of the movie.

No photos season is over my marigolds have died so I collected seed.
