Water Lily 2013

I was working on my pictures and found this one. Didn't even remember taking it but had to share. It was the first yellow lily I had in my pond. Good old Anna Epple goes on year after year so this was a wonderful surprise

I was shocked to find that water lilies could grow in our zone until I saw them at The Chicago Botanic Garden.

How like you to have something so wonderful and unique!

Thanks Donna. It only lasted a few days and it was the only one to open but it wasn't a good summer for water lilies.

I bought a hardy water lily early in the season. Will report back next spring.

Oh, how neat. Sooo, are you sinking it to the bottom over winter. That's what I do and they seem to weather it just fine. NPI
