A neighbor just bought an induction cooktop and is raving about how wonderful it is. They got a Bosch which was on sale and there was also a rebate so the price was good.
According to them, this thing both heats up really quickly and if you lower the heat it cools down faster than a gas range, making it perfect for both boiling and simmering. You (or your children) cannot burn yourself as it only conducts heat to certain pots and pans.
Has anyone had experience with these cooktops and have you found they are as good as they say? How about repairs Cathy, are they prone to need them?
I am about to start shopping for a new range or cooktop so I am very interested in more first hand experience with induction.
