Hi! I posted these pictures in general Plant I.D., and got some great help in narrowing this plant down to a kind of Orchid. I'm hoping that someone in this forum could help me I.D. further... It's growing in dry shade, on a slope in a little woodland slice in Bergen County, NJ. Possibly native, maybe rare, but definitely rare in suburbia! There are hundreds on this little piece of property... Would love to know more about these cute little plants if anyone has any info. Thanks.
Native orchid in New Jersey?
This is a terrific site for info on native NJ plants. Hope it helps you.

It may be Liparis liliifolia

Thank you Cris! I've looked at all of the native orchids on npsnj (~50), and it's different! None of the orchids listed have the distinctive white venation in the leaves. Super curious. Liparis lillifolia does look close though.
I think it's Pyrola americana, American wintergreen, not an orchid afterall. Thanks again!
If you do a google search & look at the images for Liparis liliifolia
you'll see that some look like dead ringers, but then again you've physically
seen it while I can only look at the pics & try to match it.
Might also try finding the Master Gardeners group in your area & see if they
can identify it.
Good luck :)
Yes the similarities are striking! Thanks Cris.
