Bubble Wrapped Windows

I'm trying this for the first time, I started covering my windows yesterday, its so much easier to do than the shrink wrap method. Has anyone used the bubble wrap in previous winters & did you notice a change with heat escaping through the glass ? I know you cant see through the bubbles but it lets some light in & it looks kinda cool.
