i don't know if it was really considered a sausage or not. it was white, very german, solid in the middle like a hot dog but a little shorter and fatter around. had a skin on it that was edible but a tad tough. my grandmother would buy them at the local city grocer and she called them buckwish. i'm sure that is not the spelling; i'm doing it like it sounds.
