Picture cropping

In presenting bug images I normally crop to the bug. But this often makes a thumb image that is to large for optimum viewing. Sometimes the flower, plant, or background contribute to the identification. So I present an uncropped and a cropped version.
Does DG have a preferred way of presenting bug images ?.

I don't have a real answer to this. I personally ignore the appearance of the thumbnail, except perhaps when selecting images for the index. I think the best presentation of the full imagew is what matters and I usually crop with that in mind,
