Hosta Sun Power

I have a nice large gorgeous yellow Sun Power, sprinklered, that was growing in bright shade until I cut off a large tree limb. Now it gets a half day morning sun, until about 2 pm in the summer, and it does not like it. Brown tips etc. It is supposed to be able to handle this much sun I thought. Maybe if I give it more water?

Contrary to popular belief, 'Sun Power' does not really like full sun. However, in your case, the problem may be occurring because of the sudden change of light. I wouldn't worry about it too much this year. It may acclimatize all right on its own next year, but lots of water always helps.

Viola, thanks for your comments. I am doing both. I moved half the plant and left half, and plan to water it better than it gets from the lawn sprinklers.
