What kind of wood

Can anyone tell me what kind of wood this walking stick is made of? It was in a vacation home we rented and I would love to find one like it. It does not appear to be carved, it looks more like the wood shrunk in this wavy pattern as it dried. The darker spots appear to be the places where branches would have been.
